Digital preview stage of a custom figurine order

How the 3–5 Day Digital Preview Protects Every Custom Figurine Order

Every PrinYou order passes through a digital preview before production starts. For partners, this step is the difference between a confident client conversation and an awkward revision request three days before an event.

Here is exactly how the preview works, what it protects, and how to set client expectations around it.

What the preview is

After you send a client photo, our team reviews feasibility and sculpting direction, then produces a digital preview of the figurine. You see the pose, proportions, color direction and key details before anything is printed.

Typical timing:

  • Digital preview: 3–5 working days.
  • Production: 7–10 working days after you approve the preview.

Those two windows are separate, and the clock on production only starts when you say yes.

Why the preview matters commercially

Custom figurines carry emotional weight. A wedding topper is ordered months ahead of a date; a memorial keepsake is ordered during a difficult week. When a client approves a preview, the emotional decision is made before production — not after.

For the partner, this means:

  • You quote with confidence instead of hedging.
  • Key adjustments happen while they are still cheap.
  • Delivery dates can be promised against a real production window.

How to run the preview with your client

Set the expectation at the quote stage

Tell the client upfront that they will see and approve a digital preview. Clients who know a preview is coming treat it as a service step, not a delay.

Send the photo with intent

One clear, front-facing photo is enough to start. Multiple angles help for full-body pieces, and for anything 12 cm and above the extra detail is worth the ask. For couple or family figurines at 8–10 cm, expect simpler composition — smaller sizes limit fine detail.

Collect feedback in one round

Ask the client to consolidate comments. "The pose should tilt left and the jacket color is slightly off" in one message moves faster than three separate notes across a week.

Approve explicitly

Production begins only on explicit approval. If the client wants changes after approving, that becomes a new production run — worth saying once, clearly, at the start.

What the preview is not

The preview shows direction: pose, proportions, color blocking, expression. It is not a guarantee of 100% likeness — 3D printing from a single photo involves interpretation, and we describe the honest target as a strong, recognizable likeness rather than an identical copy. Setting that expectation early prevents disappointment later.

Two production methods exist and your order will state which one it uses: full-color 3D printing (color formed during printing) and monochrome printing followed by hand painting. They are never presented as the same process.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the preview take?

3–5 working days from the moment we have a usable photo.

Can I see a preview before committing to a larger order?

Yes — that is what a sample order is for. Approve the preview, evaluate the finished piece, then scale.

What if the client dislikes the preview?

Send consolidated adjustment notes. The preview stage exists precisely for this — direction changes here are part of the workflow.

Does the 7–10 day production window include shipping?

No. Production is 7–10 working days after preview approval; delivery timing depends on destination. See the shipping policy for details.

The full sequence — photo, preview, approval, production, delivery — is mapped step by step on the partnership workflow page. Technical questions about sizes and materials are answered on technical specifications.
