Custom 3D Selfie Figurine from Photo packaging detail

How One Photo Becomes a Custom 3D Figurine

The process looks like magic from the outside: you send a photo, and two weeks later a small sculpture of the person arrives in a box. It is not magic. It is a short, repeatable pipeline — and knowing each step explains why the timeline is what it is and why the preview matters so much.

Here is the whole path, from your camera roll to the shelf.

Step 1: You send one photo

One clear, front-facing photo is enough

The whole order is built from a single reference image. One clear, front-facing, well-lit photo is the requirement — daylight through a window beats flash, and a plain background helps the subject separate cleanly. For full-body pieces, the photo needs to show the outfit too.

The photo bounds the result

This is the honest constraint of every photo-based process. The figurine reproduces what the photo shows and nothing more. If a detail is not visible in the reference, it cannot appear on the piece. That is why the photo choice is the part you control most.

Step 2: The preview, 3–5 working days

You see the design before anything prints

Within 3–5 working days of ordering, you get a digital preview showing pose, proportions and color direction. Nothing is printed at this stage. The preview exists so that problems are caught while changes are still free.

Approval is the gate

Production starts only after you approve. That single rule is the reason the timeline holds: no surprises at the print stage, no arguing with a finished piece. Look at the preview hard — it is your checkpoint.

Step 3: Production, 7–10 working days

Printing, finishing, assembly

The approved design is printed in full color, in layers, on the matte surface that gives the finished piece its sandstone-like texture. Small pieces print faster than large ones, but the honest window for any size is 7–10 working days. The base is engraved before assembly, which is why base text must be confirmed before approval.

Quality check before packing

Every piece is checked against the approved preview before it is packed. If something does not match, it does not ship. That check sits inside the production window, not after it.

Step 4: Packing and shipping

Neutral packaging, no supplier branding

Pieces ship in neutral packaging with no supplier branding or pricing. The parcel should look like it came from the gift-giver, because emotionally it did. Add transit time on top of production — plan two to three weeks end to end for a specific date.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change the design after approving the preview?

Changes after approval require a new production run — the piece is already printing. Use the preview window to fix everything you want fixed.

Do you need multiple photos?

One clear front-facing photo covers standard orders. Extra angles only help for unusual poses or multi-figure compositions, and we will ask if they are needed.

Why does the preview take 3–5 working days?

Because the design is modeled from your photo, not pulled from a template. That modeling time is what makes the likeness possible. Sellers who preview instantly are showing you a generic base with your photo on it.

What is the total time from order to delivery?

Two to three weeks is the comfortable window: 3–5 working days of preview, 7–10 working days of production after approval, plus shipping. Order earlier for holidays and hard dates.
