Detaillierte personalisierte Porträtfiguren: Was Sie vor der Bestellung vorbereiten sollten
Teilen
The best custom figurine orders start before the checkout page. The buyers who get great likeness are the ones who spent ten minutes on the photo, decided the size on purpose, and knew what the preview step was for. Here is the short list of what to prepare.
We make every piece to order from one customer photo. There is no stock and no warehouse of generic figurines, which means the quality of your order depends almost entirely on what you send and what you decide. Ten minutes of preparation is the highest-leverage part of the process.
Prepare the photo first
One clear front-facing photo is the requirement
Not ten photos. One clear, front-facing, well-lit photo is what the figurine is built from. Daylight through a window beats on-camera flash, which flattens the face. Fill the frame with the face or the full body, depending on the format you want.
Check the details you care about
Freckles, glasses, a specific hairstyle, a beard, a scar — if it matters to you, make sure it is visible in the reference photo. The figurine can only reproduce what the photo shows. This sounds obvious. It is the most common cause of "it looks like them, but not quite."
Know the size limits before you fall in love with a detail
At 12 cm and above, facial features and outfit details read clearly. At 8–10 cm, especially with two full-body figures, fine details simplify — small bodies leave fewer lines for a face. If a specific detail must survive, order bigger.
Decide the format and size on purpose
Match the format to where it will live
A display figurine wants a shelf or desk with an engraved wood base. A keychain wants a pocket. A cake topper wants a wedding table. The right format is the one that fits the recipient's life, not the one with the best photo in the listing.
Size up if the gift is the centerpiece
Anniversary, retirement, memorial — go 12 cm or larger. Casual gifts, party favors and stocking stuffers suit the smaller formats. The size decision also sets expectations for detail, because larger pieces carry more line work in production.
Know what happens after you order
The preview comes first
After you order, the digital preview takes 3–5 working days. It shows pose, proportions and color direction before anything is printed. This is your checkpoint — look at it hard.
Approval starts production
Once you approve, production runs 7–10 working days. Changes after approval require a new production run, so use the preview window to fix everything you want fixed. Order two to three weeks before the occasion, more in December.
Prepare the gift-giving side
Write the engraving text in advance
If the piece has a wood base, decide the engraving before you order: a name, a date, one short line. Have the exact spelling confirmed. Engraving is permanent and happens before assembly.
Plan the packaging reveal
Pieces arrive in neutral packaging with no supplier branding, so the unboxing is yours to design. For a proposal or a memorial, plan the moment — it is a better gift when the reveal is deliberate.

Frequently asked questions
What if I only have an old or low-quality photo?
Send it anyway with your order. We will assess it during the preview stage and tell you honestly what detail to expect. If the photo cannot support the likeness, you will know before production, not after.
Can I change my mind after approving the preview?
You can, but it restarts production. Approval is the gate that starts printing, so anything requested after it means a new run and a new 7–10 working day window.
Do you need multiple photos or a full view of the person?
No. One clear front-facing photo is enough for standard orders. Extra angles only help for unusual poses or multi-figure compositions, and we will ask if we need them.
How far ahead should I order for a specific date?
Count backwards: 3–5 working days of preview, 7–10 working days of production after approval, plus shipping. Two to three weeks is comfortable; four is safer for holidays and anything with a hard date.
