Vollfarbiger 3D-Druck vs. handbemalte Kunstharzfiguren
Teilen
These two figurine types sit side by side in gift shops and search results, and they are genuinely different products. Full-color 3D-printed figurines — what we make — are printed in one pass with color built into the surface. Hand-painted resin figurines are molded pieces finished with paint applied by hand, spanning factory collectibles to one-off art pieces.
The right choice depends on what you value: photo likeness, texture, price point, or the character of a hand-finished object. Here is an honest comparison.
How full-color 3D printing and hand-painted resin are made
Full-color 3D printing
Your photo drives a digital model, printed in full color in a single process. Color is part of the print, applied in layers, with a matte, sandstone-like surface and visible fine print grain. Because the design comes from your photo, the likeness is personal by construction — this rabbit, this couple, this godfather.
Hand-painted resin
Resin figurines start from a mold — a sculpt that is copied and then painted by hand. The painting is where the character lives: shading, detail, expression. In factory production, the same sculpt is repeated; in artisanal work, each piece is painted individually. What you buy is an interpretation of a sculpt, not a print of your photo.
Where each option wins
Full-color printing wins on personalization
If the gift needs to show a specific person, pet or moment, a printed figurine from your photo does something a resin collectible cannot: it is that person's face, that dog's markings, that pose. No resin line will ever include your godfather.
Hand-painted resin wins on finish and collectibility
Hand painting produces gradients, shading and surface character that direct printing does not replicate, and resin pieces are denser and often glossier — heavier in the hand. If the appeal is the object as an art piece, hand-painted resin has a mature market and a wide range. A printed figurine is lighter with a matte, fine-grained surface; which feels better is preference.
A note on our own hand-painted option
We offer a second process alongside full-color printing: a single-color print finished with hand painting. These are two distinct options — not a "full-color hand painting" combination, because that does not exist in our workshop. If you want the hand-finished character, choose the hand-painted option, knowing it is built on a single-color base; if you want the photo's actual colors, choose the full-color print.
How to choose
Ask what the gift is for. A specific person, pet or moment points to full-color printing from a photo. A character, a theme, or a love of painted collectibles points to hand-painted resin. If the recipient values a hand-finished look but the gift must be personal, the single-color hand-painted print sits between the two.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between full-color 3D printing and hand-painted resin?
Full-color 3D printing builds the figurine from your photo with color printed directly into the surface in one process. Hand-painted resin figurines are molded pieces finished with paint applied by hand, usually repeating an existing sculpt rather than your photo.
Which looks more like the person in my photo?
The full-color 3D-printed figurine, because it is built from that photo. A resin figurine is a sculpt interpretation and will not capture a specific person's likeness.
Do you offer hand-painted figurines?
Yes, as a separate option: a single-color print finished with hand painting. It is distinct from the full-color print — the two are not combined into a "full-color hand-painted" product.
Which is heavier, printed or resin?
Resin figurines are denser and usually heavier. Printed figurines are lighter with a matte, sandstone-like texture — which feels better is a personal preference.
