Material safety documentation for custom figurine partners

Material and Safety Documentation B2B Partners Can Share With Clients

B2B partners do not just buy a figurine — they inherit the questions their clients ask about it. What is it made of? Is it safe on a wedding cake table? Is it safe for kids? This article gives partners the accurate, defensible answers.

What the material actually is

PrinYou figurines are 3D-printed decorative keepsakes. The surface finish is matte with a fine sandstone-like texture, and fine print-layer lines are visible on close inspection — this is characteristic of the process, not a defect.

Two production methods are used, and your order states which one:

  • Full-color 3D printing — color is formed during printing.
  • Monochrome 3D printing with hand painting — printed in a single material color, then painted by hand.

Partners should describe the product accurately to clients. Words like "plastic", "ceramic", "glossy resin" or "clay" do not describe the finished piece.

The documentation partners can share

For selected full-color 3D printing materials, PrinYou can share material documentation including SGS RoHS reports. Partners in the EU and other regulated markets can pass these to clients who ask for compliance paperwork.

Full details are on the Material & Safety page.

The three sentences that answer most client questions

When a client asks about safety, accuracy protects the relationship. The defensible answers are:

  • "It is a decorative keepsake or display topper." Not food-contact, not a toy, not a medical product.
  • "It is not edible and not designed for children's play." Cake toppers are display pieces, removed before slicing.
  • "Material documentation is available on request." SGS RoHS reports for selected materials can be shared.

These three sentences are honest, consistent with the documentation, and avoid overclaiming.

What not to claim

Partners sometimes want stronger selling points than the facts support. These claims are not accurate for PrinYou products:

  • Food-safe or food-contact certification — the figurines are not food-contact items.
  • Toy safety certification — they are decorative, not toys.
  • Waterproof or weatherproof — they are indoor display pieces.
  • "Plastic", "ceramic" or "resin" as a material description — inaccurate for the printed finish.

Overclaiming creates liability and returns. The matte, sandstone-textured finish is genuinely distinctive — sell what is true.

Placement guidance for retail partners

  • Cake toppers: display on the top or beside the cake, removed before cutting.
  • Figurines: indoor display, away from direct prolonged sunlight and moisture.
  • Memorial keepsakes: shelf or cabinet display; the matte finish photographs well in soft light.

Frequently asked questions

Do you provide RoHS reports?

SGS RoHS reports are available for selected full-color 3D printing materials. Request them through your partner contact.

Are the figurines safe around food?

They are decorative items, not food-contact certified. As cake toppers they are display pieces and should be removed before the cake is cut.

How should I describe the finish to clients?

Matte, with a fine sandstone-like texture and subtle print-layer detail. Avoid "plastic", "ceramic", "glossy" or "clay".

Are they suitable for children's bedrooms?

As decorative display pieces, yes — with the same guidance as any decorative figurine: display, not a toy for rough play.
