À quoi ressemble le flux de travail d'un partenaire photographe, de la demande à la livraison
Studios ask the same operational question before adopting a keepsake program: what actually happens between a client inquiry and a parcel at their door? Here is the workflow, mapped for photography businesses specifically.
The inquiry
A session client sees the keepsake offer — on your website, in your session follow-up email, or at the viewing appointment. They ask about it. You quote it with the timeline stated plainly: preview in 3–5 working days, production in 7–10 working days after approval.
The quote is where most programs succeed or fail. A studio that says "about two to three weeks plus shipping" gets the order. A studio that hedges gets a maybe.
The photo
This is your advantage as a photography partner: you already have the photo. A session image with a clear, front-facing face is the ideal input. You do not need the client to send anything — you submit the order with an image you already control.
For full-body pieces, multiple angles help. For 12 cm and above, higher-resolution sources produce noticeably better facial detail.
The preview
A digital preview arrives in 3–5 working days showing pose, proportions, color direction and expression. Two options:
- You review first. Filter anything obviously off before the client sees it. Recommended — you know what a good portrait looks like.
- Client reviews directly. Works when the client is decisive; costs more back-and-forth otherwise.
Approval of the preview is the gate. Production starts only after it.
Production and delivery
7–10 working days after approval, the finished piece ships in neutral packaging — no PrinYou branding, pricing or marketing material. It can go directly to the client's address, so the studio never handles inventory.
From the client's perspective, the whole thing was part of your studio's service.
Where studios put the offer in their funnel
- Session follow-up. The keepsake is offered with the gallery delivery, while emotional response is highest.
- Portrait sessions. Family and pet portraits convert naturally into figurine keepsakes.
- Wedding clients. Couple figurines and cake toppers as a post-wedding or anniversary touchpoint.
- Pet sessions. Companion portraits and memorial pieces — the least price-sensitive category.

Frequently asked questions
Does the studio need to hold stock?
No. Every piece is made to order after approval, shipped directly to the client in neutral packaging.
Can the studio mark up the price?
Yes — the studio sets its own retail price. Most studios price keepsakes as a premium session add-on.
What if the client wants changes after the preview?
Send consolidated notes during the preview stage. After approval and production start, changes require a new production run.
How does the studio describe the product?
Accurately: a 3D-printed decorative keepsake with a matte, sandstone-like texture. Not plastic, ceramic or resin. Material documentation (SGS RoHS for selected materials) is available on request.
